Young Gator Always Hungry

HotRodRoss Mar 15, 2010 08:26 AM

I know this is probably a good thing. My American Alligator is about 13", got from a breeder. He is the most alert one I have ever had. He wants to eat every day, crickets, chicken, catfish, etc. The base of his tale is very chunky and he seems very healthy. Just wondering if I should be feeding him every other day. Or if every day is ok. But he will always accept food.
Been away from here for a long time. I too was wondering about Bill Moss, as he was really an expert and someone who really knew his "you know what"
Thanks!

In my opinion its fine to feed young gators every day as long as you dont mind fast growth, Normal is a foot a year dont be surprised if you get 2-3 feet in a year especially if you get some gator feed in the diet. Good luck with your little pig. Hugo B
