still not out of hibernation

mdterp Mar 20, 2010 01:15 PM

Should I be worried that my box turtle still hasn't come out of hibernation? This past week it's been in the 60's to low 70's in Maryland. This is the third time I have hibernated him outside. This year we had a harsh winter so I'm worried that he may not have made it. I know exactly where he is burrowed.

It's not spring yet. Be patient. You might have to wait another month.

Here in north/central NJ, all 3 of my adult, outdoor hibernees are up. Not doing much, but up. Next door neighbors turtle is up also.
