What has been your observations concerning shed frequency in baby retics? Is it the standard 1 per month early on?

I have another question for you. My retic has been in his current cage (75Gal) since Monday. It is bigger than the cage he has been in at the shop. I have created a very elaborate environment with a comprehensive hide structure. He has been very stationary since he has been in the new cage. I kind of thought he would be moving a little more by now. Most of my other snakes have been a little more active at this point. Is this normal? He seems very alert.

The only times my retics display any activity is when they want food. Other than that they stay stationary.

He finally started moving at night. I think he may have been getting used to his new environment.

they are like any other animal, they need a few, sometimes several, days to adjust and feel comfortable. keep in mind, the aquarium set up, unless you have something covering most or all of the sides, they will feel very insecure with no dark sides (ie, like a vision, ap, etc type cages)

Well, question answered. He shed last night. I could not even tell with the exception of the ever so slight glazing of the eyes. I guess this one will eat even while shedding, though that will not be my practice.
