PETA must really be confused...

steelersdiehard Mar 26, 2010 09:39 AM

A couple months back I posted the response I got from PETA about supporting sb373. They said they FULLY supported the bill. When I ask about skin and meat trade that might come about they would barely give me a response after multiple attempts (response below). Now here is a link to a video that they are putting out... I want to know what they stand for because they obviously don't know??

"Dear Mr. Beilstein,

Thank you for contacting PETA again. We appreciate your concern about reptiles who are killed for their skins.

PETA is an animal rights organization that believes that animals deserve the most basic rights and consideration of their own best interests regardless of whether they are useful to humans. Like us, they are capable of suffering and have interests in leading their own lives; therefore, they are not ours to use—for food, clothing, entertainment, or experimentation, or for any other reason. Therefore, PETA supports legislation that would prohibit people from keeping and/or breeding exotic animals"

PETA people have been confused for years. Anyone who thinks along the lines of PETA is confused. I would like to see these animals being used for leather, killed in a better way so they don't suffer. After all their life is being taken to provide us with a luxury. Animals are ment to be eaten, by humans, and by other animals. Humans are born omnivorous, not vegaterian, and not carnivorous, we are both, that is how we are hard wired, it's in out genetics. If a person is a vegaterian, it is by choice. I say, don't push your lifestyle on me, because I am not going to push mine on you. If animal skins are being used for leather, that is a good thing, it shows that it's hide is beind used for something usefull and not thrown in the garbage. PETA is against anything that has to do with human contact with animals regardless of what it is. It's funny, animal owners don't push their beliefs on non amimal owners by saying, you need to own an animal. But PETA people just want to ruin things for all of the people who enjoy the company of an animal. If this country wants to ban something, they should ban PETA, everyone would be happier.

everyone knows that the best meat comes from herbivores so when I can no longer eat bison vennison, and beef without being a criminal. I think I'll be giving peta members a shot on the barbie.

People for the non-ownership of animals, not limited to exotics. Crazy group right there. They want to end pet ownership period. I never realized how opposed to them I actually am. I am completely for using animals for food, clothing, entertainment, experimentation and any other purpose. I do believe we rule over the animal kingdom. I am in favor of giving them wilderness areas so they can survive and thrive. Primarily so they will still be around a hundred years from now just in case we discover other important uses, experiments, etc. to serve man then too. I think having private keepers contributing to the collective knowledge of breeding, maintenance and innovative uses is vital and they do it with their own funding! Taking animals out of the hands of enthusiasts who would study and breed them for free, like endangered indigo snakes in Florida, is madness. Peta is a threat to science, technology and the continued existence of the diversity we have to enjoy now. They are against it.

Funny thing is, when you look at alot of the peta supporters, especialy the famous ones..pam anderson!...they have pets themselves...Stupid hypocites!!lol

Funny you mention indigos as they have lost 95% of their natural enviroment due to people . I read private Breeders might be the only solution to restocking them in the future.
As babies they have lots predators esp kingsnakes but as young adults they don't thus breeders who hold on to the babies few yrs might be the key.

PETA never see's the big picture its a tunnel vision society .

Than again knowing Florida that 5% might be golf courses in 20 yrs and senator Nelson will blame pythons.

I read an scientific article some time ago saying that plants actually show moods, respond to music and stuff like that... oh boy, i hope some other scientific work comes quick to disclaim all that... or we risk being stuck with the right to eat nothing but rocks, soon.

Anyone else hear about PETA getting sued in Germany for paying a fur processor to skin animals alive to film it for their propaganda videos? I guess due to witnesses (the camera man and the processor) they lost in court. Makes you think a little more about just what their real goal is.
