Chondro x Ball?

hogbilly Mar 26, 2010 10:34 PM

Somebody mentioned that this combo has been done, so I've come dashing over here. Does anyone have info on this type of hybrid? Who did it, how easy/hard the eggs were, photos of any color changes, soforth? So many questions, I know.

dear god, why? i'm not a purist,i actually like most hybrids, but ugh.get a dwarf burm for your ball, don't try to cross a beautiful chondro with a dumpy blob.just my opinion, but i don't know why any rational person would try it.i'm not trying to be rude, just painfully honest

Sorry, maybe that came off wrong, but asking for detailed info does not immediately infer that I want it or want to breed it. If someone's done it, I'm interested in the results.

...hybrids aside, I for one am pretty tired of elitism against particular species.

You'd be surprised about ball pythons, the ones at my local reptile store have perches available and they constantly make use of them. The only reason I don't offer it to my spider is becausee her wobbles make her a horrible treeclimber. Somebody said it's been done once, I assume it's a challenge but possible if you can get an eager male chondro with a female ball.

I have recently seen a cross btw a ball and Irian Jayan carpet python, but not a chondro and ball.

megalon Apr 06, 2010 05:55 AM

yeah,i've seen 'carpalls','carpondros',even 'comas' and 'walls'(hybrids with womas).i'm waiting for someone to cross an amythestine and retic,or a carpet and dwarf retic(really wanna see that one).
on a seperate note,i wonder if it would be possible to cross a kenyan sand boa with a rosy or rubber boa?

I think it would be interesting to see any of those hybreds. There is nothing wrong with a hybred as long as it is represented as such.I remember when condros were bred the first time I am old.To think that we have gone so far that we could breed a hybred is awesome to see.I was a purest at one time and still am at times when it comes to some species.Yet if you own an animal you may choose to do with it as you please.I still want to see the cornsnake childrens python hybreds that were produced last year.

i cant remember what forums i was on but the childrens corns were posted. i question the validity of the cross. i can see childrens x ball but a colubrid x python i doubt their is any truth behind it. the pics were interesting but nothing spectacular from what i remember. and you would think that they would be mind blowing. then again first gen hybrids are usually ugly anyway. im still waiting for a morph super ball. like a spider x high red shorttail
