i was watching austin stevens adventure on sat morning. he was in south africa chasing leopards when he showed a neat looking snake but i missed the name of it. it was bright orange with black diamond like pattern on its back. it appeared arboreal and it did bite him but he wast alarmed so i guess it wast venomous. any ideas on what it might be would be great.

Could be the African coral snake, Aspidelaps lubricus. Unlike New World corals, they are arboreal, and from what I've read have black and orange band-like markings.

Yeah, I can just see him blowing-off a tag from that one as his lips start to tingle and shortness of breath starts kicking in as he tells the TV audience....."ahh!, it was nothing folks, I know what I'm doing!"..HAHAHAA!
