Feral pythons cure cancer

Upscale Apr 01, 2010 10:27 AM

Scientists working with blood samples from introduced everglades pythons have found a property that seems to stop all cancers in lab experiments. This was found accidentally while performing an unrelated trial with mice that had been part of a cancer trial. Examination of these mice revealed no cancer detectable after the seventy day test period. Mice exhibiting the missing cancers were used in the unrelated trial testing mercury contamination in feral pythons. The property present in the feral everglades pythons is not present in imported non-feral specimens examined so far. The cure to cancer may be in the feral Burmese python population now nearly established in south Florida.

That is kind of funny. When I lived in longwood fl. that rats and mice I raised that ironically often feed my baby burms among other things, had an exceptionally high cancer rate. We used to joke about the mouse cancer research thing because we did nothing to them except feed and water them and of course feed them off.
When I moved to paisley my cancer rate in my rodent colonies dropped 90%.
My theory is it must have been the water as nothing else changed and they do have water issues in the neighboring town of Lake Mary.
I guess I could have treated them with python blood. go figure.

Wow, that sounds like it could lead to some good news. Very interesting.

I just saw a report on the news that the cuban army has invaded South Florida and claimed it as cuban territory. A friend of mine just called and said that I-95 is closed to the public and that it is packed with military vehicles heading south.

Today is April Fools Day. SWEEEEEEEEET. It takes us old geisers a little while to catch on. Still, I liked the part about the Cuban Army. It would be nice to wipe them out. Then we could send the rest of them back. Now that would be nice.

Yeah I'm going on about 4 hours of sleep so He got me with the cancer thing until I woke up enough to remember the date. The longwood/cancer is absolutely true though. It kind of creeped me out when I put 2 and 2 together. I know it's not good to drink lots of soda but I'm glad I did when I lived at that house.
