First clutch of the year is finally here

bhmorrill Apr 03, 2010 09:52 AM

And it is a nice healthy clutch of 9 Angolan eggs!!! I am a happy kid. They actually came 30 March, but it has been a busy week so I haven't gotten to the pics until today. The eggs all still look good, and I am looking at them multiple times a day still. Gotta find a way to chill out or these 50 days are going to kill me!

I put a couple pics up of her just days before laying so you can see how large and uncomfortable she was. But, she is good now and has already taken down a small rat. She is a 2001 from wild caught Houston Zoo stock and she is unrelated to any of the Lazik stock. We feel very lucky to have her, and can't wait for the little ones to come out!!!

Congrats! I'm expecting eggs soon as well. What temp and substrate do you plan to incubate at?

I am using vermiculite and running at 88.7 F right on the eggs. Good luck with yours!!!
