Do all retics as they get bigger push you off with their body if you touch them to get them out of the cage. I touch with the hook and same deal and the tail sometimes wags. Today he touched himself with his own tail and pushed that off. I mean I touch him with the snake stick and he moves his head away, Maybe as he has gotten bigger I have started to relize this.

Some times they will do that. The main thing is to see that the retic responds to the hook and the feeding response is cancelled. Usually pythons do not change much in personality as they grow larger-they are the same snake and act the same from baby to adult. Their size is the difference. A certain movement may go unnoticed with a baby but really gets your attention at 15 feet. Bill

My 10' male has always done that, if anything touches him he pushes off but the good thing is when i touch him with the hook his feeding responce dies off so it doesn't bother me. When I get ahold of him he doesnt do it anymore.

OK thats good to hear because he does the same thing. Full on ready to eat anything that enters in the cage until he is tapped and we are at about 15ft, and it does get my attention. Especially when he moves fast.
