Anyone working with Candoia b. bibroni?

boidsonly Apr 11, 2010 08:51 AM

Looking to add the Fiji Is. boa to the collection. Have not seen any in many, many years. Anyone working with them here in the US?

Jerry-how goes the collection?

Best regards,
Jeff

Sorry can't help with providing any for you, but I'm in Fiji keeping C.b. bibroni. Check out www.pacificboasnakes.blogspot.com

I'd love to see pics of your Fiji boas - I see pattern variations between islands here, and am interested in what patterns (back and belly) are around elsewhere.

Thanks for the link-great site. Too bad you cannot export CB young from your facility like Indonesia and other countries allow. They are a remarkable tree boa-one I would really like to find again.

Best regards,
Jeff

We aren't exporting, and probably won't be, but I have just determined that the Fiji Boa actually isn't covered by CITES - at least not at our end.

Does anyone know what the USA import restrictions may be? Don't want to raise hopes, but you never know eventually.... We are trying to captive breed now....
