I finally got all the pieces together for a new cage for the collared sisters (Ripcord and Rorschach's kids)! It's a 75 gallon that used to be for one of my uros, who now all live in six foot monster cages. Lots more room for everyone to stretch their legs!
Extra special treat? They also get a new Mega Ray metal halide lamp!! It's a beautiful, bright white light, and the lamp is showing fabulous UVB output. I'm as excited for that as I am for the big tank!

cage before I figured out that all I'd really needed was lower the perches a few inches. Obviously you don't want the highest point right underneath the MVB, but when they're warm enough but just feel like just resting for a few minutes and watching things it seems all of my lizards prefer a low-90s elevated ledge to a low-90s spot of ground. And it makes reaching in to handle or handfeed them much easier. Those Magnatural ledges would be great, too, if it weren't for the fact that 75s have such thick glass. Might be able to rig one on if you added an extra hardware store magnet or two for extra oomph.
