Rosy Boa breeders or pet stores?

Gaffey789 Apr 19, 2010 10:35 PM

I'm looking into getting a baby Rosy Boa. Are there any breeders or pet stores in the Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire area where i can find a healthy, cheap baby Rosy Boa?
Thanks,
Tyler

You can usually get a rosy boa from a reputable breeder for the same price or less than you can get one from a pet store. And you'll get more info on the snakes background, locality info, etc.

There are breeders all over that will ship rosys fairly cheaply. If I were on the east coast, I'd buy from John Columbus.
He's reputable and produces really nice rosys. I've bought from him before and have been very happy with his animals.
Good luck!

(I hope this isn't seen as an advertisement. I'm just trying to answer the question.)

I'm not sure if/when there is an expo in your area, but that might be my first inclination. You could pick from dozens of babies and talk to the breeder.

NERD (New England Reptile Distributors) is a great reptile breeding facility in your area. I don't think Kevin does Rosyboas, but he could certainly put you in contact with the right person. They have a pet store in Plaihstow NH.

Get your rosys from Jerry Hartely. He works with over 30 diffrent locsales of rosys for over 30 years and is the nicest guy you can ever imagine to meet. he has a real love for these snakes an anyone wanting to work with them. It is not about money.Instead the LOVE of Rosy Boas comes first and foremost. He specializes in multiple locales. And just read more about him and what he has for sale.

he resides i Nevada near the Cali border (Truckee}, I believe.. Nicest person you will eve meet with a penchant thhat is so high for rosboas, that goes through the ROOF!........

He has a rosy boa website were all the hardcore enthusuasts(PURISTS) go, let me find it and you can post an introduction when you registr over there. Tell em Rainer (aka BLUEROSY) sent ya there:

http://www.[url ban]/forum/

spend some time reading the archived posts. These are rosy spcialists who stick to there own forum for exchange of information. They get very excided over there with a new find/Pics (esp with insitu pics), and share breeding successe
and espcially finding rosy in places yet to have been discoverd . It is a lot of funn
. Stay a while and tell them I sent you.

Tell the Jer-bear ("the Sasquatch) Jerry Hartley I said hello.

I want to second what bluerosy said there. /]Jerry Hartley is the man, and had been working with rosy boas for longer than almost anyone. He's done so much for the rosy boa hobby.
