substrate for display cage??

hey guys,i need some advice from experience...i just purchased my first leo gecko and have her set up nice.i am looking to make a nice naturalistic display cage.Right now i have paper towel as a substrate but looking for something naturalistic.In regards to calci sand and vita sand,i have been hearing positive and negative..she is a 2 yr old female and can someone recommend a good sustrate and experiences with this calci sand and is it safe to use???..thank u

Everyone's going to stone me for this but go ahead and use the calci sand if you really want to (since you have an adult.) But before doing so, make sure your gecko eats from a food dish so as to avoid impaction, and provide a calcium dish 24/7 so the gecko doesn't mistake the sand for a calcium source. Pay close attention during shedding because you'll probably have to assist with the shed!

Ive always kept my "display" leos on normal play sand from home depot sifted through a window screen. Its way cheaper and I have known a bunch of people to do this with no problem. The dust from calcium sand seems to make leos look a lot duller in my opinion.
