Woundering if anyone is getting eggs early/late and suspect last winter for anything. I got backsweeping form a few Manouria starting. How, or what signs do the keepers of redfoots and other sp. look for. Anyway "here we go again" a new season. VM

Just Sulcata and NA Woods so far. No Redfoots yet. I have also got some sweeping from the Emys. I noticed it last week. What month do you start to see nesting?

Mine usely nest in July Aug. Although nothing is etched in stone.I've got one trying to fool me. The phayrei are starting to back sweep but not in a frantic mannor like other years. Their trying to fool me too! I think its a plot to drive me nuts. Vic

We had a slow start to the year here in Vegas, which I blame directly on the weather. It was a cold March and April, and the tortoises never knew when to get going. We'd have a warm few days, then it was back to the night times in the 40s for what seemed like forever. Now it's flipped around and highs are pushing 90 already (seems like we skipped the 80s). We do have a few species incubating that were laid through the last 2-3 months, but we were much further along at this point last year. Hopefully it's a cool June....
