Diamond backs fighting over fish!

I saw these guys today and thought it was an interesting little party!

That is just outstanding. It looks like the smaller male was just there for the ride, since his tail was entwined with the female's. What kind of area was this?

This was at red river in downtown Shreveport, la. It's a public place with a floating dock that was on the sand because of low water levels. I'm guessing they hide out in there alot.
It looked to me like it was 2 big females fighting over a catfish. Then two smaller males maybe trying to make with them? Their tails were entwined as if they were mating. Of course I could be wrong. There were several other water snakes. Popping up in the same area.
The female with the fish in her mouth was about 5ft long and about 3inches around. Bigger then my fist! It was an incredible I've never seen before.
