I'm having trouble seperating land from water efficiatly enough for my caiman to get in and out of the water.
Could it be because I dont have a heat lamp for him?

He definatly needs a heat lamp and a water heater.
A filter is a very good idea too unless you want to change water every day. I can't help you seperate land/water without knowing about your setup. I use custom made cages for inside. Never used an aquarium. For little guys i buy the plastic tubs for mixing concrete (from lowes $5-12) and build a land area around it. Then put some staggered sizes of slate in there to make steps.
Thanks, thats a good idea. He's pretty small right now so we have him in an aquarium about 3ft x 1ft. We are thinking about biulding a larger one for him but have no idea where to start. I do have a land area with a heat lamp made from little rocks with steps going up, but im pretty sure he's never gone on it.
Thanks for the help
