hello folks, how can i tell if my greeks are succesful with copiulation? my male is about 5 inches and my female is about 7, she is a big girl compared to him, seems a bit awkward fro him whemn he is mounting her but,,,, try and try again he does, she doesnt seem to mind, how long, and how will i know if she has eggs? thanks for any input....

If and when you think that a female turtle or tortoise may be gravid, you can take her to a vet and have an X-ray film taken to show whether or not she has eggs in her. The radiation dose is low and will not hurt the mother or developing eggs.

In the species with which I have had experience, eggs are usually laid within 5-8 weeks of a successful breeding. It sounds to me as though your pair IS large enough for this to be possible this year.

thanks for the info, i was thinking that would be a good way to tell too but wasnt sure if the radiation would give me three legged babies! I will look into that..
