I just found a few mites on my juvenile retic. I soaked all of his hides and logs in bleach water. I then sprayed the enclosure substrate with lice bedding spray (same as provent a mite). I rubbed the snake with "Natural Chemistry Reptile Spray".

I amticipate this working. What methods have you guys used with any effectiveness?

Don't over do it my friend. Mites will occur from various sources at times. For years I have used Equat Bedding Spray from Walmart with very good results as it is the same as Provent A Mite. Remove the snake and water bowl. Very lightly spray the substrate and cage furniture. Let dry at least 30 minutes-very important-let dry and do not spray the snake directly. Replace snake/water bowl and repeat treatment in two weeks. Give it time to work and all mites and their eggs will be gone with in 30 days. Bill

Thanks, I value all of your input. It sounds like you are saying that all I really needed was the bedding spray. I thought that myself but wanted to take every precaution. I have quite a few decorative items in his tank.
