New Addition and the End of an Era

bigbearhook May 26, 2010 04:16 PM

Here is my new JCP I picked up this month at the Rocky Mountain Reptile Expo. He end my streak last night of never getting bitten. I've been keeping snakes for 2 1/2 years and have never suffered a bite from one of my snakes. I've been struck at but never bitten. Until last night. I was handling him and he just looked at my hand and snap. I still love him though. And it didn't hurt at all. Just a little blood. First, my female takes a dump on me and then my male bites me. This week has been something else!!!

I think I would rather be bit.

Amen to that, I would always rather get bit than crapped on!!! I guess that might change if I were working with larger species though.

Anyway, congrats on the new addition!!! Few things better than a jungle, beautiful and awesome snakes!!!

Hey! Maybe you should think of it as a good start to a new era, rather than the end of an era.

That sounds like a day in the life. Snakes are super predictable, you just have to understand their motivations and be aware of their current state. Jungles are nice and strikers, thats the diversity, just like humans but better, they don't do things with evil intent.

Nice looking jungle! Seeing that I was the only one at that show selling jungles, That must be from me! It's sibblings are on day 59 so it should be any day now for hatching. I should be at the next show in Aug. so hit me up when you are there.

Hey bro! Thanks again for this little guy! He's awesome! However that Arizona Mountain I got from you has only fed once since the show. He ate a day after and not since then. However the carpet NEVER refuses!

Glad to hear he is eating well! Once they get started they just don't stop. As to the mt king, if you have any questions give Rick a call. I wrote his number on the back of my card. If you lost the number let me know and I will get that to you!
Thanks again,
