I just saw an ad for a "black rat special". Does this mean anything to anyone? Thanks.

Ummm... I there are lots of ads for "(snake species) special". That just means that they are having a "special" (sale) on that species, not that there is something "special" about that particular snake.

On second thought, maybe that wasn't your question? In the context of a snake-related site, a "black rat" means a "black rat snake".

I just found out today. A "black rat special" is a black rat snake that is het for leucistic.

so it's essentially a normal black rat,unless you get another het or a lucy to breed it to,huh?

Yes, it is a het for leucistic. I just picked up a male that is het for leucistic also from the breeder that the female came from originally. They probably will not breed until next year though.
