Where can I find the BEST Jungle Carpets

snakize1978 May 31, 2010 12:50 PM

I am considering getting some jungle carpets to breed in the future and I want the best stock available. Can someone tell me who has the most exceptional jungle carpets availalbe? I want the most striking examples I can find, black and vibrant bright yellows only, now dull or brownish specimens. Any help or suggestions appreciated.
Thanks!!

Look at the classifieds. If I were you I would look for Leary or Laszik lines. Those tend to go into the insane coloration. We have a ton of folks advertising on the classifieds, but remember right now many are still cooking and babies are just coming around.

Ask to see a photo of the parents. That will help clue you in to what the snakes will look like.

the fact is all carpets reach peak coloration at 1 to 3 years and then they dull out, turning more brown and black. that is not to say that some jungles will not maintain nice coloration well into adult hood but this is the exception not the rule. nine times out of ten if you see a pic on the internet of a screamer jungle it is actually a JUVENILE and not an adult or it is an integrade. my advice to you is to be patient look long and hard and buy ADULTS so you know what your getting into.
hope this helps

I agree with everything said. The best thing, by far, is to see what the parents look like. When buying JCPs it's definitely best to talk with the breeder some and see some pictures of the parents.
