What type of snake? garter?(North Texas)

I was mowing and found this little guy. He is a red-orange and looks like a garter......about 8 inches. Thanks for any advice ASAP.

It is a DeKay's snake, Storeria dekayi. It is totally harmless and your is probably an adult.
