A friend of mine of Facebook...

Hollychan May 31, 2010 09:12 PM

Apparently came across this snake in his yard while some workers were fixing his A/C or something. I cannot get any other pictures of it because they said they killed it because it was "poisonous". I think he believes it's a copperhead, but I was certain their heads were a different shape from what this fellow looks like. Any opinions other than my friend should have relocated it rather than kill it? (Believe me, I know.)

And, also, I was thinking it was a grey ratsnake or a juvie.

tell your friend he needs to study up on his local snakes.they call copperheads that for a reason.copperheads are usually banded pretty shades of orange, tan, sometimes even a pretty darkish red.
they are never gray.never never never.that was an adult gray rat that was needlessly killed.
tell him to google 'snakes of georgia',he should get plenty of pics of what snakes look like.
