brc995 May 31, 2010 09:47 PM

hey guys i cought this big female garter a couple days ago and took some pictures of her. id really love it if someone could give me some idea of what morph she was. i do believe she is a garter although her pattern looks very pine/bull snake like. I live in south jersey near the Pinelands.

eastern garter patternless phase.I caught one just like this in West Virginia about 20 years ago. I think they are rare,I have not seen one since. It should be a good breeding project. If you look back at the old literature they were treated liked they were quite common. So they may have once been more wide spread.

ive been looking for more just plain patternless garters and either people don't breed them or they really don't have them.

Not many people keep garters, so there may not be much of a market for them...
