A breeding milestone for me

bhmorrill Jun 01, 2010 01:20 AM

I have looked forward to this day for many years. Just had my first clutch of angolans hatch out this week. They are such awesome little pythons. Sorry the pics aren't the best, hopefully I can get them to hold still better next time I try. Enjoy

I also decided to put one of them in with a yearling bredli just for comparison. These little angolans come out nice and large compared to Morelia, that's for sure!!!

Congrats on the clutch!

The first thing I noticed when I saw the pictures is how large and developed the Angolans looked right out of the egg.

Great work! They looks awesome. Are they from one of the girls you got from me? Good luck with the rest of your projects this year.

Yes Matt, this clutch came from the larger girl that I believe was the one that laid for you once before. I also have a clutch from the other girl from you that is on day 56 today, so should start seeing them coming out either today or tomorrow! I am very happy. How is that pastave girl doing? I miss her very much!!!

That's great to hear! That proves I just don't have the magic touch with the Angolans. They must be happier over there. I'm glad they produced for you. The Pastave is looking great. I expect her to breed for me in 2011. Both female Pastels and the female Spider bred for me this year. I have a clutch from each in the incubator now. One of the Pastels just laid her clutch today as a matter of fact. I bred both Pastels to my Leopard 100% Double Het Pied/Clown, so I'm hoping for some Leopards and Pastel Leopards possible double het Pied/Clowns. Best of luck with the rest of your projects this year and keep up the good work with those Angolans. They are definitely one of my favorites.
