Enclosures: What do you recommend for...

jlsreptiles2011 Jun 02, 2010 01:44 PM

I was just wondering what type of enclosures you guys recommend for adult burmese pythons, retics and green tree pythons? What book do I need to purchase to get info on how to breed the three species? Is there any other info I need to know?

Im not going to touch base on the burms and retics, but the gtps, I found it fairly easy to keep and breed them in 3ft visions with belly heat on 1 quarter of the cage providing a basking spot on the perch of about 92 degrees with the other side of the cage reaching as low as 77-80 degrees. Always provide them with atleast one perch if not two.
I know that boaphile, habitat systems and a few others are also making cages specifically for arboreals now.
The absoulute best books you can buy for any green tree questions are The Complete Chondro and The more Complete Chondro both by Greg Maxwell. They are both filled with knowledge that has proved invaluable to many chrondro keepers.
Good Luck,
Chad
