This species is from Central America, the adult male and female pictured are the parents. To my knowledge this is the first time this species has been produced in the USA. Top 2 pics are of the female, bottom is of the male.

Here's the babies, the babies all had a reddish/orange hue on their belly at birth however the coloration disappeared on a couple of them within a few days of being born. The female did retain her reddish/orange coloration. Top 2 pics are of one female, bottom pic is of one of the males.

Hey Scott
Those are pretty cool looking. Are you expecting other CA garters this season?

Dan
Hey Dan,
Think that is it on the CA's. I will be trying a new breeding technigue to hopefully help produce offspring. How's snake hunting going this year ?
Thats weird, looks kinda like flames, wonder if that orange will just fade away then?
Nice looking babies, they have big heads almost python or boa looking. Congrats on yet another first.

Thanks Jeff, yeah it is definately weird that they lost their color. I assume the female will eventually lose hers too as the adult and subs I have don't show this coloration.
