Retic from today in S. Texas

jpenney Jun 06, 2010 11:37 PM

A friend of mine came down from Kansas and wanted to go out to look for Indigo snakes and Reticulate Collared Lizards (Crotaphytus reticulatus) today. We were successful in finding three retics but no Indigo's. The first two retics ran off before we could get photos but did manage to get a photo of this one.
I put this on the field herping forum but thought you guys might appreciate a good looking retic.

You scooped me on this one! I have a lot of pics from the past week but I'm heading out the door again for another week so I'll have to wait to post until then.

My pics turned out almost exactly the same as this one, but I also have some where he's not gaping.

In the meantim, here's the female from the lower valley I found three years ago.
