Ground Snake (Sonora semiannulata)

waspinator421 Jun 08, 2010 12:55 PM

I am looking for some information on these guys. I have done some google searching and perused through old threads, but I can't find hardly anything on keeping them in captivity. Has anyone successfully bred them?

I would like to pick up some captive bred ones at some point, but I fear wild caught may be my only option. Are there laws pertaining to the collection of this species? I live in WI, so I know I can keep them here, but not sure about obtaining them.

Thanks!

i had one a few years ago,ate insects for me and was able to eat a pinkey at the pet store though i doubt it. he was a banded one. he escaped through the small hole you can cut out for a wire in a critter condo. that was the last i saw him. cool snake, escape artist, and exceptionally small. havnt seen any since i got him. the owner of the store told me that he got it accidentially mixed with a large group of desert kings.

Been a long time on this forum seems like. Did you ever get the information you were looking for? I have one, been fairly successful with it, however there seems to be a ton to learn about it without many resources out there. I'm in Northern AZ.
