Hello all

I have a question regarding the ID/variety of kingsnake I have. I received this beautiful female kingsnake secondhand when someone dropped her off at a pet store I used to work at. She was full grown and I don't know anything about her other than that she was a class pet for a time. I've talked to a few of my herp friends about what exactly she is and have gotten a lot of "I don't know"'s and speculation about whether she is a california/eastern hybrid, or what. I'm hoping someone has seen something they may remotely look like her? Thank you!

She looks like a regular coastal phase california king (brown and yellow). They come in banded and striped varieties and some are in between and called aberant. Hope you enjoy her. I have had several similar.

That's a California kingsnake. The pattern is not natural, its caused by breeding a striped, banded, and Newport kings from different areas together. You can call it an aberrant pattern. The yellow, if any, looks more white, so somewhere along the line the desert phase was put into the mix.
