Looks like a blackback!! D Roddy has produced several. He is working on proving it out but it may take a few more years. Is that the only one that hatched with a blackback? Cool looking little BHP! Post pics of the others. Congratulations if you produced it.

Hello thanks, it has hatched 5 days ago, I had 7 eggs of aspedites melanocephalus, only 2 hatched. the other one loos normal

Ah....looks just like this guy I hatched a couple years ago.


Here's some with solid stripes down the back.



I'll know next year (hopefully) if it is a simple recessive trait like I believe it is.
Haven't seen too many around but, there are a few in Australia and when bred to each other...produces all black stripes.
