I saw a snake at a show recently it looked like a Mexican black kingsnake but a little lighter ventral surface and is a snake eater. I know it's not an indigo does anyone have an idea, sorry no pics.

wanna maybe try and narrow the search a bit?like,do you know if it was venomous/nonvenomous?i mean,a black paki cobra looks like a black king, and they'll eat other snakes.there's a phase of eastern chain king that's almost totally black.i used to catch them in tennessee when i was a kid.

So if you don't have any idea what it is, how do you know it is a snake eater?. Did you see it eating one?, or did the vendor tell you it eats snakes?

Could be anything from a Mussarana to either subspecies of Black kingsnake, to a Black Racer, or lots of other types as well. They all are known to eat snakes.

Trying to be helpful here, but that is pretty vague info you must admit..LOL!
