I found this guy down in florida on an abandoned golf course on a cold winter day. he is the biggest snapper Ive ever caught by far. he measured 22.75 inches and 49 pounds. looks like his upper jaw is a little worse for wear. I returned him to his pond after the pictures and measurements, to live out its days. beautiful if you ask me.

That is awesome. I was in shock at the size. So it's a florida snapper then and not a common? I'm not sure but I think the record scl florida snapper is 17inches and that one is much larger. Thanks for posting those pics.

actually florida has 3 snappers the common, the florida, and the alligator. that one is just a really big duck fed common.

I see huge snappers in the North East once in a great while, but was always curious as to whether the Florida Snappers get bigger than the Commons and if so, how much bigger?
