Hi, all!

I am a new leopard breeder and am experiencing some issues with my eggs. I have them in moist vermiculite in a plastic sandwich-sided storage container in an incubator (a hovavator) with the temps set to around 85. Most of the eggs are looking healthy and good! I have two, however, that became VERY moldy. I tried turning up the heat and putting in drier vermiculite, but nothing worked.

Now another one is starting: what can I do to save this little one? Should I turn up the heat, put the eggs in completely dry substrate, etc.??

Any advice would be appreciated.

Are you positive the eggs are fertile? Also you could be keeping them to moist, but I wouldn't switch them to dry vermiculite or change the temps. You want the temps to be as constant as possible. If they look bad with mold throw them away or atleast put them in a seperate container, you dont want them to get the other eggs moldy. Also make sure to open them up every now and then. I put a tiny hole in the side of the container so the air doesnt get to stail, but not one big enough to let to much humidity out.

Yeah, you probably have them too moist - if the vermiculite feels wet, it's probably too much.
