I just acquired a juvenile veiled chameleon. He is currently being housed in a 1x1x1.5 screen enclosure with some branches and fake plants. I have a pothos plant that I bought at Homo Depot the other day. At some point i want to move that into the enclosure, but I'm not sure of it's toxicity. I have it outside hanging from a tree and spray it off with the hose twice a day...

What should I be doing if I want to get this plant into the enclosure safely?

The one other thing to do is repot the plant into new potting soil that does not contain perlite or systemic fertilizers or pesticides. Big commercial nurseries often put systemics in the soil so the plant absorbs them over time. Cham have been known to shoot and eat the "interesting" white perlite off the top of the soil. If you want to help the pot drain well (one reason for using perlite) you can put some pebbles in the bottom of the pot instead. Or, to keep the cham from getting any of the potting soil on its tongue you can put some large river stones or window screen over the soil surface.

Thanks, sounds like a plan.
