First Thayeri out of the egg.....

Jlassiter Jun 28, 2010 05:12 PM

It has been 4 LONG years since I have seen a thayeri hatch......
And I definitely missed the excitement for sure.....

Here is the first one out of the egg.....
Sire was a Reduced Red Louis Torres stock leonis (ANDY).
Dam was a Vivid Peach Milksnake phase (PEACH).

This one looks peach like its mother. I can't wait to see what it looks like after shed......

Thanks Micheal.....
As for the Melanistics...
I never refer to them as het melanistic....I'd rather call them thayeri with melanistic parent or lineage.......

I do have a pair over here on loan produced by Brad Alexander that had one melanistic parent and both of them have a black belly.......They actually have alot of melanin on their dorsum too.....Wide, black borders and dark speckling......
I have two others (one from Jonel Lopez) over here too that have melanistic lineage and have black bellies.....

Hope this helps....

The last two thayeri emerged from this clutch this morning......

The leonis neonate is the best out of the bunch in my opinion...
It is yellowish/green, but I really won't know until it sheds.

There were two MSPs but one was nearly fully formed but dead-in-the-egg.....One MSP hatched out fine.....

Here's the pics:

Thank you Aubrey.....I may hold onto that light colored one.....Especially if it is a female......
I need one female from this clutch to be bred back to her father to see if the Hypo-E gene is for real with ANDY....If not, no big loss.......LOL
