I do not own a tokay but like them very much. My mother won't let me get one as a result of this ... incident.
I went to a pet store to look at the reptiles (come one, someone else must do this). The guy at the herp dep. was very nice and let me handle some of the reptiles. I held a golden gecko (same genus) from Vietnam and it started looking at my mom. I knew it was going to jump because my crested does the same thing, but it was too late it jumped about three feet onto my mom and started scrambling up her chest. She was very hysterical. No Gekko after that.
