After 70 days the first Uromastyx ornate egg started hatching yesterday, and this morning the little guy was out. Today the second and third egg are also hatching, the other 7 eggs from this clutch are also collapsing so hope they will follow soon. these little ones are so darn cute

dont meen to hijack but what was your water to vermiculite ratio for the eggs? i lost all but one of my geyri eggs and now it has collapsed at day 50, i kept it dryer then the other eggs, and it did realy well until now, i have added some water in hopes it will help,

KHamers Jul 05, 2010 05:28 AM

Hi Don't know exact ratio, I just put some water with the vermucelite and than squeese the water out again, put the eggs in and when the eggs collapse I add little water. But If the eggs are due to hatch (with my ornates after about 65 -75 days ( depends on species))don't add any water anymore, they will collapse and hatch

On topic:
All 10 eggs from the first batch hatched, pretty happy with the 100% ratio....
