I have been raising boas for 15 plus years and recently a good friend of mine sent me is russian spur thigh, about 3 feet long and 2 feet wide weighing around 40 pounds. I am new to these awesome creatures so I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction for proper care and mantinance. Thanks in advance Mike

At the size you mentioned, you could not have a Russian Tortoise. They don't even get one foot long. It would have to be an African Spurred Tortoise, or G. sulcata. Look up the G. sulcata care sheets at various sites and you will find the info you need.

If you google tortoise forum you will find really good info on all types of tortoises with some very active sites.
