If you are tired of the media hype and want to know what is really going on in the everglades with the Burmese pythons then don't miss "Python Hnters" on Nat Geo Wild Monday nights at 10:00 pm in July!

As a Fl. resident I am about sick of all the media crap about mynamar pythons in the everglades. As far as I am concerned national geographic is no better than the rest of the channels out there given the history of what they have already shown. I will not be watching it nor anything else on these channels. I will not be able to boycott their advertisers because I will have no idea who advertises on their shows.
I am a bit ticked off at how we have been thrown under the bus here in fl. and another consequence of watching such shows would the possibility of wasting a perfectly good tv. set because I am sure I would blow a hole through the screen at the first sight of a govt official on one of these shows.
I will be making it a point to crawl out from under the bus 114 days from now on nov. 2 help try and vote as many incumbents out of office hear as I can.

My feelings exactly. I'm just so sick of it all that I don't want to visit Burm forums because the discussion has turned from keeping to hunting/fighting/sensationalism. Bleh.

Glad to hear that you are going to get out an vote in the next Elections. Cant wait to see some of our Florida Senators and Congressmen retire.
Speaking for one that has seen much of the media and political Hype first hand on this subject, I feel there has been a lot of misrepresentation. This show isnt going to do that we did this show to find out and report on the truth. . I encourage you to get further out from under the bus and as a Concerned Florida Citizen attend the FWC comission meetings and make your opinion known while the rule mking process is in progress.I have only missed one meeting in the last year and I promise you My opinion is heard .... If all we do is complain about laws and rules after they pass we're no better then those that complain about the president but didnt bother to exercise their rights to Vote. If your one of thise People Your opinion doesnt count...

I'm not always available for FWC meetings because I do have family and business obligations. However, I do contact the FWC with my opinions, the news media channels, call and write my representatives, and I am a paid member of USARK. I am a registered voter and vote EVERY election. My opinion counts.

Considering the individuals that are in this show, and based on their experience in fighting for our rights and their efforts to help our industry; it's only fair to wait until I see the show before passing judgement on the message. The sensationalism has already reached every TV in the country and at this point, the only way to tell the true story that is supported with knowledge and facts might be back through those same TVs with individuals that are within our industry.

I would hope that this will be a story told from a different angle; one that explains away myths and hysteria that some of the other shows have fueled and brings educated awareness to the public. If so, these guys have my full support. We owe them the benefit of the doubt. I'll watch...

I won't be making a judgement on the show as I won't be watching it. We have been burned by nat geo and the animal rights planet and the rest of the lot too many times before. Collectively anyway, I haven't personally been burned as I am a semi-professional musician that comes from a family of professional musicians. I am very well aware of the well used tactic of using controversy to sucker people to either buy your product or to generate free advertisement for it that is much better than any advertising you can buy. Unfortunately I am contributing to it right now but I am attempting to get others to stop this. Its is done everytime one of these shows comes on. Somebody will come on here and scream about it and others will scream back and forth about it voila....word of mouth advertising. This is how alice cooper kiss wasp and madonna (and many others.) have sold records in the past. They either did something controversial or recorded a controversial song and suddenly free adds pop up on Sunday mornings in churches nationwide to a captive (coveted) demographic of rebellious teens. I have seen it just recently with Katy perry's I kissed a girl. She has gotten at least 4 free adds in the last 3 months for that song in the church I go to and no telling how many other free adds nationwide.
Barry Manilow never gets this type of hype and free advertising nor do shows on animal channels about the sex lives of aardwolves, But snakes invading the everglades???? and once again voila free advertising and the advertisiers who pay the tv channels love it when you threaten to boycott them as they know you are seeing their adds and they know the boycott thing is a load of crap and wouldn't last long if you actually did boycott them.
So for God's sake stop the free advertising!!!!

I watched the show, and I thought it was pretty good. You couldn't ask for three better guys to do this. I will watch next week as well. Good job guys.

3 excellant, unbiased, well done shows.

Greg Graziani Jul 29, 2010 09:21 AM

Thanks to all that watched and for all the kind words about the show. We worked really hard to present all the facts as we have found through the data we collected. It was not easy but in the end I think it paid off!

hex96 Aug 01, 2010 11:28 AM

Great job!

I was astonished to see that there was a Reptile facility on the border of the Glades that was destroyed and 900 baby burmese escaped. I think it is very important that you guys bring these facts to light and show these lawmakers. Throughout this whole hysteria I have never seen the Media or FWC mention that at all. How can they even question where the invasion came from with this evidence!

Thanks for your hard work!

Jaykis Aug 04, 2010 06:58 PM

Greg, are there any more than 3 episodes? You guys did very nice jobs, except I think you just like getting musked, lol.
