Minimum size of female for breeding

MoreliasCom Jul 13, 2010 04:07 PM

Hi,

I just picked up a 3-4 year old burmese today.
about 8,5-9' and weigthed in at 16,5lbs.
Muscular and healthy, hardly no fat without beeing thin.

My plan is to breed here to one of my dwarf males.

But I cannot find any info on what is a minimum length/weigth for breeding.

Do you burmese breeders think she would be possible to breed this comming winter?

Thanks
Bård

Hi there!
She is at the typical breeding size/age now. Typically it's 9ft in length & 2 years of age, for females. Males at 8ft.

I do suggest putting more weight on her as the breeding process takes a heavy toll on 'em. I don't mean "get her fat" but definitely bulk her up pretty good.

Have a good one!
