Friendly handful

varanid Jul 15, 2010 09:53 PM

I don't know how big she is *shrug* Much longer than the 6' cage she's in right now though.
She's a very friendly snake. But when handling, she gets it into her head to explore and then it becomes a pain.

Playing tug of war with a rack of kings:

me holding her briefly

me giving up

Very friendly but man when a snake that's good sized wants to see whats...on the ceiling fan...behind that rack....in that desk...under that freezer it's hard to dissuade!

Nice snake. They sure are busy snakes. I can put mine in the yard and they never stop moving and exploring.

Nice looking albino retic you have there. I own two retics and both are very active when first taken out. It take me around 15 to 20 minutes to get them to stop exploring then they will just chill out and stay wraps around me. One is very easy to hold as he is 3 feet long the other one can be a work out as she is 15 feet long. Now when I have them out I don't put them down I just keep letting them move from hand to hand and the bigger one all over my body. She usually stops and sits on my shoulders and my head.

Take care

citrus puts her head where she wants to  The big thing with her is the tendency to explore vertically; fans, shelving, bookcases...anything
