If you need to use live rodents as food for a picky snake, This was posted on the Bush-League Breeders Club Ball Python forum. It was too long to copy and paste here so I included the link. Scroll down to Post # 10 by Bob Oblak on July 13.

I disclocate the cervical vertebra by putting a pencil over the neck of the mouse and tugging firmly and quickly on the tail with the other hand. For rats I bonk the back of its head against a table edge. I don't think I could bring myself to do the extensive dental work recommended in that thread. Ye Gods...I am already phobic about going to the dentist and that would totally ruin my karma! LOL! My snakes will eat a fresh killed still quivering prey. I never feed them a live biter.

Been there done that and you really have to have a hard heart to do it. It's fresh killed or frozen thawed unless I'm feeding pinks.
