Thayeri X Nelsoni Clutch

gzgraph Jul 19, 2010 09:18 PM

Here is my TxN clutch that just finished hatching this weekend. First clutch for both adults. I selected both of these as hatchlings for their apricot/peach coloration. They definitely passed it on to their offspring! This is going to be my line breeding project for a while to produce extreme orange/peach colored animals. Unfortunately some of them are all ready getting opaque and the flash washed out some of the color. The lightest one is actually a yellowish green body color. You gotta love the variability of thayeri!

Here's the parents. The female is the milksnake phase (with a piece of shed stuck to her), the male is the buckskin type. I thought was pretty cool that the female influenced the majority of the clutch, but that buckskin baby was the spitting image of his father, only nicer.

Nice. I love the thayeri too. I am currently breeding some extreme peach/orange thayeri to some exceptional albino ruthvens. Babies started hatching today. I am curious about the one baby in the clutch that apears to be amelanistic. Is that the photo? or are mom and dad het?

Yes, the lightest was is an albino. Of course it was the last one to hatch! I was almost convinced the parents weren't hets. All have shed and I'll try and get some better pics soon.
