can some really get over 25 pounds?

poison1981 Jul 22, 2010 11:42 PM

How common is it for a cribo or indigo to get over 20 pounds?

I am kinda confused is the only diff between an indigo and a cribo the color and the size?

They are the same length but cribos are just a lot thicker like a python?

I keep hearing of monster 20 pound cribos but i never hear of indigos larger than about 12 pounds.

My guess is that it's unlikely to see a 20 plus pounder. I wont say impossible, but certainly unlikely

Drymarchon can easily get over 20 lbs if fed properly.
I have several males of different species all over the 20 lb mark. Most max out in the 15 lb range. Here is a shot of a Drymarchon m. rubidus male 5 years old @ 22 lbs taken a year ago. I have heard of specimens reaching the 30 lb range and 10 foot.

No, they can do a fairly good job on mice though

Take care,

HOLY @#&*@#%$ ?@&%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are these the world's biggest colubrids or what (they are colubrids, right?)?!!!!!!!!!! That thing looks like a freakin King Cobra or something! I'm a "new follower" of the cribo and don't really know much about them, but what I can say is this...IMPRESSIVE. I completely understand the draw now.

BEAUTIFUL SNAKE, Alan.

"Draw", meaning the interest collectors have for them. I've heard them described as being very very intelligent, not to mention an awesome "show piece".
