ontogenesis in MSP thayeri

brianm616 Aug 03, 2010 12:01 AM

i have an '08 female msp thayeri that has begun a slight color change since her last shed.

when i first purchased her, she had a pretty standard msp red/black/gray pattern. however, since her shed last week i've noticed that the lower third of her gray pattern has turned strikingly orange.

i'm just wondering how common this is in thayeri. any input is appreciated.

It is common for a Thayeri's last portion of the body to turn an orange-ish hue. I don't know why that happens... perhaps someone else here does?

It's all in the genes, of course. LOL - not really a helpful observation! But I too have noticed a couple of my animals developing an orange (sometimes reddish) suffusion that seems to increase with age. They never really stop changing.
