In the past I've always built my own cages out of melamine...which worked great.

I'm interested in buying some cages though...for my pair of retics.

I've looked at the Vision cages and like the looks. Does anyone have any recommendations for other good cage companies for housing big pythons?

I don't have a lot of time to search on my own, so I'd appreciate any leads you could give me.

Thanks,
Travis

I apparently have far too much time on my hands, but the other companies I'd suggest looking at are
-Animal Plastics
-Boaphile Plastics

This is based upon my own random free time, speaking with breeders, speaking with local herp shop employees, and rifling through reviews. My 2 cents, anyway.

Thanks! I spent some time looking at the sites for both Animal Plastics and Boaphile Plastics cages. Both look great!

I guess I've narrowed it down to getting cages for my retics from either:

1. Vision
2. Animal Plastics
3. Boaphile

Now, anyone have any advise to help narrow it down even more? I've decided to not make cost a big issue. I just want to get the best cages for my animals and for hopefully breeding them. What do you recommend & why? Thanks for anyone who takes the time to reply.

Don't forget Sentec cages. I seen them at Tinley. They are made for big snakes. Super strong. They look sweet. They make 6' and 8' cages. Absolutely amazing.

Yes indeed! Sentic Cages look very nice! Guess I have to narrow it down between four now. Couldn't find prices on their site. I guess they make you call? Thanks for putting the word out about Sentic too. - Travis

I had done lots of research months earlier and ended up getting cages from Repti-Racks instead. The final two choices for me were repti-racks and Constrictors Northwest.

The biggest three pluses for those two companies for me were 1. I didn't have to assemble the cages, 2. prices were cheapest which include the shipping cost, 3. quick response from customer service.

In the end I bought from repti-racks because I liked what I saw from their Youtube videos. You should check them out.

While I'm not a big fan of the Repti-Racks web page layout, I took a few moments to browse through their website and it appears that the biggest cage they even sell is 72Lx24Dx12H which could end up being a little small for 2 retics.

You're right that their prices aren't bad, but they aren't much different than Boaphile plastics either, who also ship their cages wholly assembled and include shipping costs.

Personally, getting either a 72"x30"x18" or 96"x30"x18" cage, most likely from Animal Plastics.

72x24 = 12 square feet of ground space.
72xx30 = 15 square feet of ground space.
96x30 = 20 square feet of ground space.

Another couple companies you might check out are Monster Cages and Boamaster. Matt(Monster Cages) makes his out of polypropylene, which is hypo-allergenic, and they are also thermo welded. Leakproof to the best of my knowledge. I've seen these firsthand, and they are nice tanks. Plus he'll also custom build to your specs.
Mark(Boamaster)just recently started started producing PVC cages, and while they are "knockdown" type cages, they are very nice cages for the price.
Just another couple of ideas........

constrictorsnw cages are the tops of the cages out there. i would definately check their cages out and purchase them. made from the best material and super strong. Extremely easy to clean as well, and that is big with retics. I am going to sell most of my visions and get them.

monstercages are a better way to go, way more room and more sizes to choose from, very well built, also animal plastics makes a good cage at a good price

For large pythons I always look for decent depth--30 inches or even 36. 24 inches isn't much at all for the bigguns.

The bigger, the better.
