LUCY AMAZON TREE BOA!!!!! by GCR

joshhutto Aug 06, 2010 04:46 AM

Here is info provided by Gulf Coast Reptiles. also any color seen on this baby is afterbirth.

"Just born today! Leucistic Amazon Tree Boa We believe this to be a Super Form of a project we have been working on for several years. This is the first breeding where we were able to breed the original sire back to his daughters. We have several more of his daughters gravid now. We hope to prove conclusively that this is the Super Form of this morph and that there is both dominant and co dominant form."

Exactly what Charles said! This is Earth shattering news in the ATB world right now! Ask them to borrow someone's camera and take some pics of those Lucies! THat photo looks like it was taken with a cell phone, and it's killing us not to see this amazing snake more clearly!

Hey Josh,

Nice looking baby for sure. I can see a bit of pattern on the snake...especially when I take the brightness down in photoshop. Is there some faint pattern? Anymore in the litter or just this one. Congrats!

If the litter was a father to daughter breeding of a co-dom morph, 1/2 the litter should be Lucy (supers) and the other 1/2 should be the normal phase of the morph....right?

I believe 25% would be the super form, 50% would be the co-dom form, and 25% would be normal.

Well either way, I'd love to see a litter photo and also hear more details about the litter and this "co-dom" morph!

from my understanding after a very long talk with Chris is that any color that you can see on that animal is afterbirth and the snake is snow white and they didn't want to mess with it too much but were so excited they wanted to share with everyone. I'm sure many more pics will be soon to follow. I too was shocked when he called to let me know the results of this litter and can't wait to see a 5ft white ATB!!!

Wow! Love to see break through morphs! Congrats GCR!

BuzzardBall Aug 06, 2010 09:24 AM

It looks healthy and alert which is very important w/Lucys!

WOW... Thats awesome. This is great for the ATB community.

Kinda of reminds me of the leucistic texas rat snake.

Excellent mutation. I wonder is this going to end up looking like the pink/purple Amazon that Danny Mendez had quite a few years ago? It was outstanding in the pictures.

"Just born today! Leucistic Amazon Tree Boa We believe this to be a Super Form of a project we have been working on for several years. This is the first breeding where we were able to breed the original sire back to his daughters. We have several more of his daughters gravid now.

So, the father and mother of this snake are a co-dom morph? Some of the mother's female siblings are also this same morph and were bred back to the father?

If what you're saying is true, you should have a dozen or so Leucistics born by the end of the year. Will any be available?

Do you plan to share any info about this co-dom morph that produces Leucistics as the super form or keep it a big secret??
