How old are your oldest Candoia?

helenthereef Aug 08, 2010 08:57 PM

Trying to work out expected lifespan: how old are your oldest Candoia?

Please list species and maximum age you have experienced (and/or any other info you may have).

I work with Candoia bibroni bibroni, so far have 3 x four-year olds that are just over 1m long, so am extrapolating that that the 1.5m wild caught females may be 10 years or so, and the 2m adult female possibly 15????

Any ideas welcome

My oldest animals are only ~5 years old. I would bet that they could live well over 20 years.

I have a female australis that I have had in my possession for ~11 years.

She was not a baby when I got her, probably a year old.

I have an Candoia paulsoni tasmai female which should be something like 12-14years old by now. I only had her for two years but when i bought the pair they were supposed to be 10-12years old.
