That appears to be a greybanded king Lampropeltis alterna, or possibly a variable king Lampropeltis thayeri, which is pretty closely related. Nice animal nonetheless!! I saw the pics of the japanese rat and amel blackrat. Nice finds all in all!!

Yes, as Kevin stated, that is a definite Gray-Banded king(L.alterna). The silver colored irises of the eye are indicative of that particular species as opposed to the other mexicana complex that have tannish to rust colored irises.

The previously mentioned albino black rat and this greyband will be available for adoption in the Maryland area, but I'm keeping the Japanese rat snake!

Yeah, Sonya, Those Japanese Rat's are far less common in the hobby, and that is probably a very wise choice to keep on your part!
